Mansfield got a boost even before a ball was kicked on Tuesday against Tranmere wit the news that Callum Elder would be staying with us until the end of the season, having had his loan extended.
Elder has been a regular in the side since joining on loan from Premier League outfit Leicester, in a move that’s clearly proven to be beneficial for all concerned as it’s given him the first-team football he obviously wouldn’t have got at the King Power Stadium, which no amount of Development Squad or reserve team football can replicate.
Like I say that was a boost before a ball was kicked against Tranmere, we followed that up with a win that has all but secured our Football League status so could mean we get to see the left back again next season?
