Mansfield Town supporters were last night out celebrating the purchase of three top-notch signings that showed the clubs intent for the upcoming season.

Forget the World Cup, this is news we have all been waiting for since the disappointment of missing out on promotion at the back end of last season.

First came the news that 21 years old, Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker had joined on loan for the season, and if that wasn’t enough, winger Otis Khan came in for an undisclosed fee from Yeovil Town.

And to complete a memorable day for manager David Flitcroft, he captured the signature of 32-year-old striker Craig Davies from Oldham.

Davies had scored 14 goals in a relegation season for the League One side, so comes with a good pedigree, and we’ll gloss over the fact he played for our near rivals over the M1!

After the scattergun approach from a certain Mr. Evans last summer, where what seemed like over 100 players (!) arrived on inflated wages, it’s refreshing to see Flitcroft take his time and decide on the crucial areas that needed to improve the squad.

Whilst, several players remain transfer listed, the additions this week will no doubt push season ticket sales up, which were slow to get off the ground, due to the increase in prices across the board.
