Mansfield Town boss Steve Evans has finally got his wish, a star striker now signed up and ready to hit the ground running for his new look team.

The Stags have snapped up 25 year old forward Kane Hemmings from Oxford Utd on a loan deal until the end of the season.

There is then an agreement to make the deal permanent should both clubs wish.

Slight confusion hit supporters however shortly after the deal was announced, when it was revealed that Oxford have the option to call Hemmings back in January should they wish.

It is not known if the deal then to sign on a contract would still be in place or not.

For the time being though, the Stags have a real find on their hands for League 2 and the promotion push we are waiting for this campaign.

Hemmings has a goal ratio of almost one in every two games played, having netted 53 goals in 106 appearances.

Oxford snapped up the striker from Scottish side Dundee after a prolific spell north of the border.

He is expected to go straight into the team for Saturday’s clash with Luton Town.
