Notts County V Mansfield

Notts County will be without top scorer Jason Lee for another game as he serves a three match suspension. Tcham N’Toya is in line to replace Ex-Mansfield Town man Junior Mendes, after the former Stag had a shocker last week.

Ian Ross is likely to only make the bench, and Alan White returns from his own suspension. Kevin Pilkington could replace Saul Deeney in goal, according to prominent rumours.

Mansfield Town have Matthew Hamshaw pushing for a start after a great cameo as substitute against Chester, but after his recent personal difficulties, Billy Dearden has stated it is still very much down to the player to decide just when he feels he is ready for a starting place.

The Stags also have doubts over defenders Jake Buxton, and former Nottingham Forest centre-half Jon Olaf Hjelde. Giles Coke is obviously still missing, as he is out for the season with a knee injury.

Buxton and Hjelde have both been rated at 50/50, and will face late fitness tests before selection is made. Manager Billy Dearden told CHAD,

‘Jake was already touch and go and now Jon has come in and isn’t training so we will just have to see what happens.

‘I think Jake is quite confident he will be fit in time, though.

‘Matt Hamshaw is very much in my plans. It is up to him to decide when the time is right for him to start a game. But he played at Lincoln on Saturday and then played a bit longer on Tuesday and did very well.’

Key Men:-

Notts County – Lawrie Dudfield (striker)

Mansfield Town – Simon Brown (striker)

Vital Football Prediction: 2-2

Score draws are the way forward it seems in this fixture. 2-2 at Field Mill earlier this season and 2-2 at Meadow Lane last season. The Stags are in good form, but County will not want to be beaten by their current closest rivals on their own turf.
