In his latest official website address, Mansfield Town Chairman Andy Perry has revealed that the playing budget for next season, will not be cut, despite recent reports…

When asked questions about the Mansfield Town playing budget for next season, Perry denied recent reports that it was being cut.

He insisted that manager David Holdsworth wants to work with a ‘tighter group of players’ next season, but that shouldn’t be taken as read that the budget was being cut.

Perry also confirmed that the board had met with Holdsworth over the past couple of weeks, and despite massive disapointment over not acheiving a play off spot in the Blue Square Premier, he and the remaining members of the board, were fully behind Holdsworth for next season.

He told the official website ‘We gave him a four year contract, and we will support him’.
