Manager Adam Murray has said that he was happy with what he considered a fair point from our one all draw with Cheltenham Town yesterday.

Having fallen behind, substitute Billy Kee got us back on level terms in the game and with only eleven matches left at this stage, we now sit eight points away from the dropzone and Murray has been pretty pleased with the turn around in our form in recent weeks.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, the gaffer explained.

‘On the balance of things it`s a massive point for us. In the bigger picture, if you draw your away games and win your home games, you`ll get promoted, so it`s not a bad knack to have. We`ve ground out another result and I think it was a fair point for both teams.’

Murray was quick to say that despite his increasing pleasure with results in recent times – unbeaten in three now with two of those being wins – he’s reticent to talk of corners turned or anything like that because we’ve had ups and downs all season and just when we thought maybe it had clicked, we’d fallen away again so he didn’t want to omen us in a manner of speaking.

‘I`m a little bit wary on saying anything this season with regards to turning corners because there have been that many ups and downs. Sometimes, you`re out of the woods, whether it`s injuries, performances or results, then all of a sudden you get kicked in the backside. We`ve improved the results and the points in take, but there`s still a lot of work to do and we want to put more points on the board.’

With Mansfield now having the same points return as we did at this stage last season, Murray ends by saying he has no interest in history as it doesn’t affect the present and that’s his only interest.

‘It`s about making sure we keep our focus, keeping up the levels of performance and keeping the levels of concentration as high as we possibly can. Are we on the right tracks? Yes. Is the group positive? Yes. But we all know that with this league this season, if you take your eye off the ball, the goalposts get moved again. So it`s a great point today, a great few weeks, but the hard work starts again.’
