Despite sitting in 12th place, Mansfield Town find themselves just two points outside the last place in the play off slots, currently occupied by Blackpool, who stunned league leaders Doncaster Rovers last weekend, with a stoppage time 1-0 win.

Any 2 teams from 9 can currently lay claim to standing a chance of a play off berth, and the Stags are certainly one of them.

The men from the One Call head to Stevenage for a real six pointer, a winner takes all game if you like, with the hosts sitting 4 points above the Stags in 6th place.

The jostling for positions looks as though it will go right down to the wire, with Stags chief Steve Evans telling the official Mansfield Town website “With three games to go, we`re very much in the mix along with four or five other clubs and no one expected that of us.”

Blackpool have what looks a winable game at home to Cheltenham next time out, so it is more than possible that Mansfield will need to win their remaining three games to gatecrash the play off picture.

If Stevenage were to prosper, they then face a trip to Yeovil before facing another play off chasing team Accrington Stanley at home on the final day.

Fair to say, a win for Mansfield at Stevenage might just shake things up a whole lot more.
