Adam Murray made another foray into the transfer market on Friday, which could well prove to be the last bit of business that he conducts before the emergency loan window closes next week?

The move that he made, confirmed on the Official Website, was one to bring in Scunthorpe winger Terry Hawkridge.

Hawkridge, more than familiar with this level having helped his parent club to promotion out of League 2 into League 1 last season, has come to the One Call Stadium on loan until the end of the season.

Murray feels that this is ‘a great coup’ who can fill a variety of roles, not just play on the win.

‘Terry’s a quality player. He’s somebody who can play either side of midfield, has great balance, delivery and experience at this level.

‘He knows what this level is about and what it takes to succeed, which is a big thing for us. He’ll up the standards of the group and for us he’s a great coup.’

25-year-old Hawkridge might have come in but Jeffrey Monakana is returning to Brighton at the end of his one-month spell.
