Mansfield’s League 2 season continued with a first win of the campaign against Notts County at Meadow Lane on Friday.

A goal in each half was enough for Mansfield, who drew to start the League 2 season but were then knocked out of the League Cup at Sheffield Wednesday, to collected a two-nil win.

Clements’ (36) first half goal had Mansfield ahead with Tafazolli (80) heading past former Man United ‘keeper Carroll to wrap up the win with 10-minutes to play to not only give the Stags the Nottinghamshire derby bragging rights but also extended the unbeaten run at County to 18-years!

Looking at these results the stand out one has to be the Northampton win against Exeter and the incredible draw between Carlisle and Cambridge!

This three-nil Northampton win against previously unbeaten Exeter, which followed up a three-nil League Cup win over Blackpool in midweek, made it three wins out of three with seven-goals scored and none conceded so far by Chris Wilder’s side.

An up and down game at Brunton Park saw Carlisle come from behind and Ibehre grab himself a hat-trick, the first in League 2 this season to continue his early season form, but that still wasn’t enough to give the Blues all three-points in a four-four draw with free scoring Cambridge.

Mansfield are back in action this midweek with a League 2 game against Accrington, who have just the one-point to their name so far compared to the Stags’ four, at the Crown Ground on Tuesday.
