Mansfield Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by David Mirfin in the one nil victory over Lincoln City at the weekend at Sincil Bank was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Mirfin was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The EFL weekend kicked off with an early Sky Bet League Two fixture, where visiting Mansfield got the better of Lincoln City with a 1-0 success. The Imps threw everything at their opponents, but Mirfin put his body on the line throughout the 90 minutes to help Steve Evans` side secure three points.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Mirfin for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Tomas Holy (Gillingham), Matt Kilgallon (Bradford City), David Mirfin (Mansfield Town), Christoph Zimmermann (Norwich City), Albert Adomah (Aston Villa), Kevin Dawson (Cheltenham Town), Jed Wallace (Millwall), Jake Taylor (Exeter City), Gboly Ariyibi (MK Dons), Luke Norris (Swindon Town), Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
