Our editorial team will soon be heading ‘down under’ for the prestigious Ashes cricket test series, where they will be taking in the opening test match in Brisbane.

Being staunch followers of our summer sport, has spread to taking in overseas test series in recent years, and this will be their 4th visit to Australia for the Ashes.

Our editor and main contributor ‘Mikey_Stags’ explained ‘We have done Melbourne and Sydney a couple of times, both when England were 3-0 down already, so to counter act this, are just doing the opening test in Brisbane’.

On their recent cricket trips, the team have produced a write up and humorous summary that have appeared in local media or written outlets.

We, at Mansfield Vital will now get that honour as the tour unfolds with regular updates from their base in Queensland.

Aside from the opening test match, with tickets already secured for the opening four days, the team will also be in the area some 10 days before the Ashes start on 23rd November.

They will be taking in the Townsville warm up game watching the England Cricket Team alongside other members of the Barmy Army.

There will be plenty of updates during the trip and of course one eye will be kept on the fortunes of Mansfield Town back home.

One downside of going at that time of year, if there is to be any, is that the guys will miss the much anticipated home local derby with Chesterfield, along with a mouth watering trip to Coventry City as well.

Be sure to keep checking back as the team support their cricket hero’s on the other side of the world.
