22 year old striker Lee Angol became Mansfield Town’s 5th summer signing today, and we have barely moved away from the end of the last campaign.

He joins from Peterborough United, but having played a vital role on loan at Lincoln City in their conference winning season, which will put them against the Stags next season in League 2.

Angol joined the Posh in the summer of 2015, when he was spotted on loan at Boreham Wood, by scoring 32 goals for the non league outfit.

He was farmed out to them, by his team at the time, Luton Town, who will hope they aren’t haunted by his return next season, should the Hatters fail in the League 2 play offs.

He follows Conral Logan, Zander Diamond, Paul Anderson, and Paul Digby to the One Call Stadium, and is joining for an undisclosed fee.

Chief executive Carolyn Radford told the official Mansfield Town website “Full credit must be given to manager Steve Evans who has, over the last number of days, been able to convince young Lee that his future should be with us at Mansfield Town Football Club.”
