League 2 in Spotlight

League 2 gets a rare chance to be on telly this weekend, with the international break, but it means our loyalties will be very much split.

Luton Town’s home clash with bottom of the table Barnet is a mystery as to why it was chosen to be on SKY TV, but we must push ourselves to watch the greatest team on earth as they portray themselves.

You would have thought, such was Luton’s status as the above, that they would have some players called away for international duty, but they must be soldiering on without them.

We pray that Martin Allen’s 100th stint as Bees boss has some effect and they turn Luton over on their own patch, we have plans to gatecrash the top 3 before too long and a win for Barnet will help us close the 8 point gap, aided by our game in hand.

Tomorrow will really test where our loyalties lie as nearest rivals and very much hated, Chesterfield do battle with Notts County, the A60 rivals are just 3 points in front with our game in hand still to be played.

Can we really wish for a home win, to aid our catching of County? Only if all the teams just above Chesterfield win today of course.

Nah, we can never cheer the blue lot to victory, and anyway it needs to be set up so we can send them down on April 14th, so we’ll have to hope for County win, in a narrow win so we don’t lose out on goal difference come the end of the season.

All this, is of course following the Stags trip to Forest Green Rovers, which we need FGR to pick up points to send Chesterfield down, but we need the points ourselves of course, win today and we just relax and watch the above two games, knowing all things are truly out of our hands.
