It ‘Aint Over!

Whilst 90% of social media has gone into ‘season over’ meltdown, we at Vital Mansfield are refusing to give up.

On the face of it, Port Vale’s last minute equalizer at the One Call, to secure a 1-1 draw, has nearly ended the Stags play off hopes.

However, even with Coventry City and Lincoln City having a game in hand, and directly above on three points more, all hope is not lost.

The two long ball merchants of the division have to meet each other on Tuesday night, and the best result for the Stags would be a defeat for either side.

In all fairness, we should be cheering Coventry City on, as they travel to Cheltenham next weekend, and on paper, this game looks just about winnable and should secure them a play off spot.

Lincoln City, on the other hand, have to go away to champions-elect Accrington Stanley, however, they will probably be having a party next weekend having secured the trophy in midweek, so this is dangerous in itself.

Lincoln City finish with a home clash with the Stags next opponents, Yeovil Town.

By then, we will all know our fate, the best scenario is the Imps lose at Coventry, then again at Accrington, whilst the Stags win at Yeovil.

This would put us above them as our goal difference would be better, but this is all on is winning our last two games of the season of course.

The fact, we are now relying on other teams to slip up, is a shocking result of just 1 win in 11 games, despite the outlay this season.
