Danny Rose has scored close to half time to give Mansfield Town a vital half time lead in the match at Stevenage.

In a game that simply the Stags must win to keep alive their play off hopes, Rose could have scored one of the most important games of the season.

In our match preview yesterday, we identified Danny Rose as the key man for the away side, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

A match of few chances in the first half, came to life when just after having a header cleared from the line following a corner, Rose then went one better by hammering the ball into the net from a Rhys Bennet knock down.

Manager Steve Evans mades one change to the team which drew with Luton 1-1 on Easter Monday, with Alex MacDonald replacing Alfie Potter.

Pat Hoban was recalled to the bench.

Stags Line Up : Kean, White, Bennett, Benning, Taft, Pearce (C), Coulthirst, MacDonald, Byrom, Rose, Whiteman.

Subs: Hoban, Collins, Jensen, McGuire, Potter, Green, Arquin.

The bench holds a lot of fire power if Stevenage can find a way back into the game, but at half time, things look good for the Stags.
