According to the Mansfield Chad Newspaper, the Stags record bid was for Sheffield Utd Championship striker James Hanson….

Formerly of Bradford City, Hanson it is being reported, was not willing to move down to League 2, although Sheffield United look to have accepted the bid.

Discussing the move with the CHAD, but not mentioning Hanson by name, Mansfield Town boss Steve Evans said “It looked like we were not going to get our main target on Sunday night and it was confirmed to me this morning’.

“But I am very happy to go with any of the others.”

‘The bid was accepted but the player does not want to play in League Two from the Championship.’ Evans Concluded.

Having scored 77 goals for Bradford City over an eight year period, Hanson then moved to Sheffield, where he has struggled to make an impact, scoring just 1 goal from 13 appearances.

Scunthorpe United are now the next in line according to social media reports earlier today.
