Once again a small minority of Mansfield Town Supporters sat near to the home dugout at the One Call, decided to disgrace themselves with comments aimed at the clubs manager.

With sending offs, goals aplenty and plenty to discuss in the 3-2 home win over Cheltenham Town, it would seem bringing Zander Diamond on as a substitute for Lee Angol was the sign for one of two behind Steve Evans to start having a dig, this according to some social media comments intensified when the manager was shouting a comment to star striker Danny Rose.

These ‘supporters’ who couldn’t wait to see if any change in tactic was going to work, gave Evans a verbal volley to go with similar comments in previous home games.

Appearing to have a go back on Saturday was not enough as he told the official Mansfield Town website ‘I’m not going to speak about the five or six people who made comments behind the dugout in Saturday’s match.’

However, with a softening of his stance against these small minded individuals, he then praises the majority of the support, going on to say ‘Let me tell you when we scored that equalising goal I thought this roof might come in, but I definitely thought it was coming in when we scored the winner and that`s tribute to the Stags fans.’

‘They`re wonderful, they`re passionate, they`re caring and they`re supportive’ he concluded on his point regarding the support on Saturday.

One supporter couldn’t contain himself as CJ Hamilton scored the dramatic winner in injury time, being piled on by celebrating players in the melee that followed.
