Mansfield Town manager Steve Evans has been looking ahead to what could be a pivotal seven days in the League 2 calendar.

The Stags face Grimsby Town in a local derby at the One Call, with a 1pm kick off this Saturday, before another home clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

The week is then topped off with a visit up the A617 and over to Lincoln to face our ‘B’ team and general cast offs.

Evans told the official site ‘It’s a big seven days for us. Two derbies and sandwiched in between will be Gareth Ainsworth’s team, so it’s a real tough seven days,’

‘Our next seven days is against three teams who, in my opinion, will be in the top eight.’ he concluded.

Crunch games true however no matter who the opposition you can only hope to build points, two home games should be looked at as an opportunity to gain as many points as possible. If the club is to have any success this season they must not go into games fearing tough opposition, they must work to their strengths and hope to exploit the weaknesses in the opposition.I see this as an opportunity to gain points and remind the rest of the league this club won’t be easy to break down this season. The start has been just average, time to push onwards and upwards.

We need 7 points I think from this week, then we will be in the top 6 and making a statement for the rest of the campaign.
