Mansfield Town manager Steve Evans is going to be delving into the January transfer market once again to turn his play off chasing side into a promotion one.

After making a big splash this time last year, with 8 signings, just three months after joining the club, Evans is not content with his new recruits in the summer and wants to add quality to what he feels is a strong squad, ready for the final promotion push.

The Stags sit just three points outside of the top three, but are still hunting down a play off place, as they sit just a point from the final play off place.

One striker the Stags boss has said he won’t be pushing for, is Peterborough United forward Ricky Miller, which came about following a prompt from a Peterborough journalist who linked the former Dover man with a move to the Stags.

Evans told his press conference on Thursday that he had not been discussing a move for the player.

Evans did tell the official Mansfield Town Website that certain players were on the radar, but wouldn’t go into more detail as of yet ‘We have some names and one of them I gave a week or so ago to the chairman and he said ‘we know these people well, let us deal with it’ – that’s why he’s the boss.’
