According to the Sun on Sunday, Everton star man Ross Barkley could be banished to the Under 23 team at the start of the season, which could mean he plays against the Stags.

Everton Under 23’s were drawn in the same Check-a-Trade group as Mansfield Town, which could mean the Stags faithful are treated to watching Barkley in action.

The article in the Sun points out that Barkley was unfit for a pre season tour and to get back to fitness, manager Ronald Koeman is ready to remove him from the first team whilst his contract talks are still ongoing as well.

Tottenham Hotspur were interested in taking Barkley to White Hart Lane but have yet to make a formal offer, the article concludes.

The Stags game with Everton will be on Tuesday 7th November at the One Call Stadium.
