Stags owner John Radford has called on the clubs supporters to get behind the team for this massive weekend…

Mansfield Town face Accrington Stanley on Good Friday, before a mouth-watering trip to Luton Town on Easter Monday.

The 2 games will go a long way to any chances the Stags of hitting one of the automatic promotion spots come the end of the season.

Last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Forest Green Rovers led to some supporters questioning the appointment of David Flitcroft, with some on social media suggesting that after just 2 weeks in the job, he should be relieved of his duties.

If that wasn’t stupid enough, some suggested the Stags had rushed headlong into the wrong appointment, which in part has led to Radford now saying ‘I have full faith in our players and management to fulfil our objectives this season. Promotion to League One remains our primary goal.’

Speaking to the official Mansfield Town website Radford went on ‘We all know that the second half performance at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday was below-par but that performance and result is now in the past and is unchangeable. As a club, we remain in the promotion hunt and have eight big matches to play, with 24 points to play for.’

It’ll be typical of the Stags to turn up and roll over both Accrington Stanley and Luton Town, and propel themselves into the top 3, watch this space!
